Portraits of Place

Trying to find beauty in the simple things. It has been a difficult spring, my father passed away a few weeks ago after a long illness. The last four years have been punctuated with many 3am phone calls, emergency trips to the hospital, and then long rehabilitations at various nursing homes. I\’ll have more to say about that awful and demeaning aspect of our health care system later on, when I can get some distance from it. I lost my Mom 2 years ago from a similarly difficult and prolonged illness. So now it is time to smell the flowers, and breath in the renewed life of summer.
