Cheshire Lake in Cheshire MA. The first large body of water on the Hoosic River. I became interested in the Hoosic River as a subject after photographing the Housatonic River last year, which I found to be a source of subtle yet rich imagery. Also from crossing the Hoosic River while hiking on the Appalachian Trail, where it is just a tiny stream that can be stepped over, near its source.
I’m finding instant film to be a good fit for photographing this project. There is something right about this medium for photographing water and flow and the surrounding landscapes.
